本文以波特教授的產業競爭分析架構為基礎，參照實務界對資訊系統應用的實例，發展出一個由組織單一功能到全面整合、由組織內部延伸擴展至組織外部的六個層次的分析性架構，作為實務界尋找以資訊技術來創造企業競爭優勢的參考架構，並發展出「資訊系統所連結的範圍越廣其效益越大」、「與組織外界連接的資訊系統的效益，遠大於用於組織內部作業的資訊系統」以及「策略性資訊系統大多建立在基層的作業性功能之上」等三個重要的假設，除了希望能引導實務界對資訊技術應用的方向外，並作為未來實證研究的基礎。

Based on Michael Porter’s Industrial Competition Framework and the study of real world examples, this paper develops a six-level framework of the strategic use of information technology, from single function area usage to the integration of the whole process of business, from a single enterprise to the linkage of outside environment. This framework may guide enterprises to use information technology to gain competitive adventage. Follow the framework. This paper also develops three hypothses as a basis of future research.
