Submission Instructions for Sun Yat-Sen Management Review

I. Sun Yat-Sen Management Review is an academic journal published by the Management Studies Research Center of National Sun Yat-Sen University. The pages of this journal are open. Therefore, manuscripts must undergo rigorous, anonymous review. Four volumes are published regularly each year in March, June, September, and December. In addition, a single English edition and irregular special issues are published. All academic papers or discussion cases related to management that have not been published in other journals are welcome. Submissions are reviewed as they arrive. Papers should strive to be streamlined and rigorous and to focus on practical management implications.

II. Submission Requirements

1. Submissions should be typed and edited in Word 6.0 or higher. The cover of a paper should include the full name and other relevant information from the authors. Papers should be submitted through the journal website’s online submission system at the following address: http://mgtr.cm.nsysu.edu.tw. Uploaded documents should primarily be Word files. Please reference the Manuscript Format Description regarding manuscript formats to facilitate review.

2. English submissions should be revised by English-language professionals and include supporting information (for example, proof of payment or proof shown by the professionals responsible for revision) to reduce the likelihood of manuscripts being rejected because of language issues.

3. Manuscripts must include online proof of payment of submission fees (please send proof via email, fax, or scans to this publication) to facilitate processing.   (Submission fee is waived until Dec. 31, 2021.

4. In addition to the above proofs of payment, authors must sign copyright declarations (the file can be downloaded from the journal website) when submitting their manuscripts. After signing, the originals should be mailed to the Sun Yat-Sen Management Review Editorial Department, National Sun Yat-Sen University College of Management, 70 Lienhai Road, Gushan District, Kaohsiung 804. After the journal receives the proofs of payment and copyright declarations, the review process will begin. Manuscript ID numbers will be provided via email. Processing is based on the journal’s review procedures. Manuscripts with unpaid submission fees or unsigned declarations will not be reviewed.

5. Manuscripts are not returned regardless of whether they are published. Authors should retain their files. In addition, authors’ electronic submissions are retained for 3 years and paper submissions for 1 year. However, the journal does not bear responsibility for custody.

III. Manuscript Review Process
1. The editor of the field invites scholars from the journal’s editorial board and related research fields to serve as experts when reviewing submissions. First, the editorial board conducts preliminary filtration of manuscripts that meet the journal’s standards based on the conditions of the submissions. The editor of the field consults the editorial board to determine reviewers. Two to three external reviewers are then asked to conduct reviews. 2. After the journal receives the review comments of the review committee, manuscripts are processed based on the following principles:

Second Review: After the authors revise manuscripts that were recommended for revision during the preliminary review, the editor in that field sends the manuscripts to the review committee for a second review. The processing principles for the results of the second review are as follows:

3. For manuscripts that require revision and repeated review, authors should complete their revisions within three months after receiving the opinions on revision and return the manuscripts to the editorial board for repeated review based on the submission principles. To accelerate manuscript processing and avoid extending the review process for papers that fail to be accepted, except under special circumstances, in principle, manuscripts can be revised and reviewed again one time. The editorial board decides whether to accept or reject a manuscript based on the actual review opinions and scores.
