Since August 2005, Harvard Business School has collaborated with major universities in Asia to provide training in the Harvard Case Method. The case teaching method has become a focal point for universities in Taiwan, and writing teaching cases has gradually become one of the primary tasks of university professors.
To provide a scholarly platform for domestic scholars to exchange
ideas and research case teaching methods, several journals in Taiwan—Management Review, Journal of Information Management, Journal of e-Business, and Sun Yat-sen Management Review—have
each published multiple special issues on 'Taiwan Industrial Cases' since 2007.
By describing the context of the case companies and industries,
these special issues help readers better understand the challenges faced by the
companies, the responses and activities undertaken, the changes implemented,
the technologies used, the progress made, the management practices adopted, and
the underlying management philosophies. Sharing such case teaching content not
only serves as a reference to learn from past experiences but also inspires
more innovative thinking.

collaboration. By doing so, we aim to create a platform that facilitate
interdisciplinary collaborative research, further deepening the understanding
and content of entrepreneurship research.

The National Development Council designated 2019 as the Year of Regional Revitalization, while the Ministry of Science and Technology promoted the ' Humanity Innovation and Social Practice Project,' and the Ministry of Education advanced the University Social Responsibility (USR) Practice Project focusing on issues such as local care, health promotion, environmental sustainability, and industrial upgrading. In this social climate, topics such as regional revitalization, social practice, humanity innovation, social responsibility, and social enterprises have attracted everyone’s attention.
The central theme of this special issue is 'Social Practice and Value Creation.' Based on innovative ideas such as C2B, platform strategies, and value co-creation, this special issue aims to shift from traditional linear processes to platform-based interactive operations. Therefore, we extend a broad invitation to the academic community and scholars to contribute to the subtopics of this special issue (e.g., entrepreneurship, social enterprises, social innovation, regional revitalization, university social responsibility, action research, narrative research, etc.). We seek to continuously adjust the review methods and processes through interaction, striving to 'co-create' this special issue together with the academic community, contributors, and reviewers.

Special Issue on Digital Transformation Teaching Cases, Vol. 31, No.1
Fen-Hui Lin / Department of Information Management, National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan
Digital technologies are continuously evolving, and the so-called ABCD—AI (Artificial Intelligence), Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Big Data—are terms that everyone is familiar with. In addition, with the essential IoT (Internet of Things) for Industry 4.0, both public institutions and private enterprises are relentlessly investing resources to learn and apply digital technologies, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.
The process of adopting information systems or applying information
technology within an enterprise is the stage of digitalization. Once a company
has gained sufficient experience, it moves toward digital optimization, which
involves using digital technologies to optimize all aspects of its operations.
In recent years, the vast amounts of data and the computational power of deep
learning have opened up many innovative business opportunities for enterprises.
Digital transformation has become one of the most critical issues for
organizations of all types worldwide. Digital transformation is the theme for
submissions in this special issue.
